An enriching homeschool program for ages 7-15, uniquely integrating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with creative arts in the beautiful natural setting of Maple Valley.

This program allows children to delve into the interplay between natural science and artistic expression, utilizing the serene landscapes as both inspiration and classroom. ImagiQuest, formerly known as "Once Upon a Wednesday," represents a reimagined approach, now seamlessly incorporating STEAM elements from what was previously a separate STEM program into what was previously a drama and creative writing program. This transformation keeps our structured daily rhythm which balances focused activities and unstructured but supervised free time for relaxation and socialization. As a journey of discovery and growth, ImagiQuest welcomes all young learners to explore, create, and thrive in a nurturing environment. Join us for a unique educational experience where nature and creativity converge to inspire and educate the leaders of tomorrow. Please remember to pack a snack.

Program Highlights:

  • Integration of Arts: Drama and creative writing are central to the arts component, serving as dynamic tools for expressing and interpreting STEAM concepts, enriching the learning experience with creativity and scientific insight.

  • Quarterly Challenges: Questers engage in season-long projects that culminate in group presentations, illustrating their comprehensive learning and integration of STEM and the arts.

  • Nature as a Classroom: The simplicity of our outdoor setting provides a hands-on learning environment, turning each session into an engaging and educational adventure.

Key Benefits:

  • Holistic Development: ImagiQuest fosters both creative and analytical engagement, promoting intellectual and emotional growth. This holistic approach prepares students for a lifetime of learning and well-rounded development.

  • Simplicity and Practicality: Focused on the natural world and straightforward tools, ImagiQuest highlights the beauty and utility of nature, making education both profound and accessible.

  • Hands-On, Collaborative Projects: Learning at ImagiQuest is a collaborative effort. Students undertake practical projects that build their STEAM skills and essential life skills such as teamwork, resilience, and communication.

  • Collaborative Learning Environment: The program is designed to respect and value diverse ideas, creating a culture of collaboration where each voice is heard, fostering a supportive and inclusive community.

  • Deep Connections and Lasting Friendships: More than an educational program, ImagiQuest is a community where students form deep, trusting relationships, learning to navigate differences and compromise, which enriches their personal and social skills.

An all-outdoor homeschool enrichment program for children ages 7-15 that fosters social and environmental learning through nature-based activities, games, projects, and crafts.

Explore the scenic trails and forest hideaways at Lions Camp during the warmer months, and transition to the enchanting atmosphere of Royal Arch Park, just minutes from Lions Camp, from November through March. Both Lions Camp and Royal Arch Park are beautifully situated along the Cedar River, on opposite sides of Highway 169, offering vibrant, riverfront settings that enhance our nature-based activities.

NatureQuest offers afternoons filled with adventures that spark wonder, creativity, resilience, and balance. Our activities are designed to enhance physical, mental, and social skills through hiking, forest maintenance and care, crafts, and hands-on games.

We maintain a consistent daily rhythm that includes lessons on local flora and fauna, basic wilderness skills, and environmental stewardship. Each session encourages self-reflection and provides ample unstructured time for children to expend energy and practice their nature skills with peers. On the second Thursday of every month from November through March, we enhance our curriculum with nature-based field trips to various local sites, further enriching the learning experience.

Children also engage in occasional garden-to-table activities, discovering the benefits of fresh foods as part of their curriculum. This element not only teaches them about sustainable practices but also fosters a sense of community as they share in snack preparation and enjoyment.

Please remember to pack a snack. Join us at NatureQuest for a unique experience where community building and environmental education converge in the tranquil settings of Lions Camp and Royal Arch Park, profoundly enriching your child's life.
